Cookie Policy
The cookies and local storage RoomMirror actually uses, and how to turn them off
1. Very few cookies, no ad tracking
RoomMirror only uses cookies that keep the Service working: staying signed in, remembering your language, and basic security. We do not run advertising, load third-party ad trackers, or build interest profiles from cookies.
2. Cookies we actually set
Essential (sign-in stops working without these)
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
better-auth.session_token | Keeps you signed in and identifies your session | 7 days (30 with "remember me") | First-party, HttpOnly |
__cf_bm | Cloudflare bot detection and abuse prevention, only when protection is active | 30 minutes | First-party, set by Cloudflare |
Functional (optional — you may need to pick a language again)
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
PARAGLIDE_LOCALE | Remembers your interface language (Chinese/English) | 1 year | First-party |
Local storage (not a cookie, but stored on your device)
| Key | Purpose | Where |
|---|---|---|
theme | Remembers light/dark preference | Browser localStorage |
Third-party cookies during checkout
When you buy credits you are redirected to Stripe Checkout (checkout.stripe.com) or to PayPal (paypal.com). Both set cookies on their own domains that are required to complete the payment and run fraud checks; those are governed by their own privacy policies. When you return to RoomMirror we do not read their contents.
3. What we do not use
- Advertising or retargeting cookies (Meta Pixel, Google Ads);
- Third-party analytics scripts (Google Analytics);
- Cross-site tracking, device fingerprinting or interest profiling;
- Social media embeds (share buttons are plain links that load no third-party script).
4. Managing cookies
- Browser settings: delete existing cookies at any time, or block third-party cookies; most browsers let you manage them per site.
- Functional only: deleting just
PARAGLIDE_LOCALEmakes the site re-detect your language on the next visit. - Sign out: signing out under Settings clears the session cookie immediately.
- Private window: closing the window clears both the session cookie and local storage.
Blocking essential cookies means you cannot stay signed in, generate, or buy credits — public pages such as the homepage and the style library still work.
5. Changes
When this policy changes we update the effective date at the top. If the cookie list changes materially (for example, adding analytics), we announce it on the site.
